Hi! I am a UK based freelance drummer and teacher living in Brighton. I have played in a variety of musical settings from theatre shows to festivals and tours with well know artists. Highlights include the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and tours of Australia, Brazil and Japan. Festival experiences include main stage appearances at the WOMAD festivals in the UK, Singapore and Australia. Recently, I played kit on the UK tour of Britain's Got Bhangra. Here's a link to an interview for Rhythm magazine's Music Radar.

In terms of my own education, I am grateful to have had lessons with Dave Hassell and Mike Sturgis among many others and I owe them all a lot!

What Others Say.....

"Stu Roberts is one of my favourite drummers of all time - time being the operative word! His groove and wonderful natural sense of musical rightness make him my first choice for "The Rhythm Section". I have loved everything we've ever done together." -
Dave Markee, bassist (Eric Clapton, Frank Zappa, Roger Daltrey, Maynard Ferguson...).

"Stu is a fantastic and integral part of my UK band - not only a monster player, but supportive, friendly and dependable!" - Mark Collins, Musical Supervisor Britain's Got Bhangra, Asst. MD Billy Elliot (London).

"Stuart's playing is a terrific combination of rock-solidly dependable groove with tasteful and fluid musicianship: he is a joy to have in the pit. " - Pete White, Musical Director, Legally Blonde (UK tour).

"Stu's technical ability and musicianship as a drummer is obvious to any listener, but what can only be known by those who work with Stu is that he is also extremely reliable, professional and a lot of fun to be around! Top combination. Talented AND great to work with. When we meet those two qualities in a musician it makes our job as agents/performers so much easier!" - Emma Pears, Dependent Sessions

"I'm always excited about playing when Stu's on the gig. He's not just a great drummer, but a great musician with taste and creativity, and a real team player who serves the music" - Mike Nichols, bassist.
